Well sorta. It’s a start anyway. And for the timebeing, I am satisfied with the results…and will make it more organized on those wonderful days when I can’t read any more about the Rule Against Perpetuities or what it takes to satisfy the Statute of Frauds.
I forgot to take a photo of how we started…which was with about 20 of those little Betty Crocker recipe books, and probably an equal number of calendars and magazines. Mr. Incredible & I went through and tore out any recipes that sounded appetizing, and I sorted them into piles of beverages, entrees, and desserts.
My mom, who is the best and loves to order from Staples purchased me a 3 inch, D-ring binder, protector sheets, and write-on tabs.
The end result, taken in a pretty dark room ’cause I was too tired to turn the light on this morning. The tabs will be written on, as will the page with the tab, indicating what lies behind.
I seriously didn’t think I had that many recipes, but I ran out of protector sheets and my binder is quite full!
I still have my regular cookbooks, but this is very nice for all of those other recipes. When I have time, it will be better organized, with gluing of recipes to color-coded construction paper and like-entrees with like entrees. But for now, my very messy recipe cupboard is much less messy, and chicken, fish and steak entrees lovingly intermingled.
Anyone want to take bets on how long it will last before I’m annoyed that the recipes aren’t categorized?! I’m betting after the first use. But, I will remind myself that Mr. Incredible is no way near as obsessive about that kind of stuff and it was so very nice of him to assist with this project by putting everything away. Especially when he was helping during Monday Night Football!
And now…I need to find a recipe to send over to Daisy. And I have NO clue what to send.
